broken cd?
In Linux, if you cd /; pwd
, cd ///; pwd
or cd ////; pwd
, you will always be given this result:
/
However, if you cd //; pwd
, you will be given this:
//
That’s also true of cd //usr/share
//usr/share
But not true of cd //usr//share
//usr/share
/me ponders that for a moment, then gets another can of carlsberg from the fridge and goes to mow the lawn.
Hmm, Solaris does this too. I wonder is it some standard Unix or POSIX thing?
